Christian Victory Centre (CVC) began life in the CWA building in Grafton Street back in 2003. There were about half a dozen people that met on a Sunday night to praise and worship Jesus together.
Despite humble beginnings, the church had a vision. They wanted to make a difference in the town, to share the Good News and the love of Jesus.
The church slowly grew and moved to a bigger facility in the Senior Citizens Centre in 2007. With faithful determination, they followed the path of love and found a deeper understanding of God. Along with their revelation came a joy that filled their hearts. A joy that began to spill over and touch others in the community.
Things also began to happen with a home for the church. The Ex-Servicemen’s incapacitated hall went on the market and despite hurdles with council and banks, it became CVC’s home in 2010. It was an exciting first Sunday in their own building.
Since that weekend, the building has seen some wonderful changes but more importantly the church has continued on the wonderful journey God has for them. The first 10 years have been an adventure but the best is yet to come. Congratulations 10 Years CVC.
